Module 2: Basic Embouchure and Tone Production

  1. Understanding embouchure and its importance.
  2. Correct lip positioning for sound production.
  3. Developing proper blowing techniques.
  4. Learning controlled breathing exercises.
  5. Producing the first clear note.
  6. Developing a steady airflow.
  7. Practicing long notes (Sustained Notes).
  8. Understanding dynamics.
  9. Exercises for improving tone quality and consistency.

Module 3: Introduction to Indian Classical Music

  1. Introduction to Indian Classical Music.
  2. Understanding the concept of Raga, Tala, Shruti & Laya.
  3. Introduction to the 12 Swaras.
  4. Understanding 7 Shuddha Swaras
  5. Understanding 4 Komal Swaras
  6. Understanding 1 Teevra Swara
  7. Learning the positions of Swaras on the flute.
  8. Playing and recognizing each Swara.
  9. Ear training exercises for identifying notes.
  10. Basic Alankars using Swaras.

Module 4: Indian Classical Ragas on Flute

  1. Introduction to the concept of Raga.
  2. Understanding Arohana (Ascending Notes) & Avarohana (Descending Notes)
  3. Characteristics of major Ragas.
  4. Learning beginner Ragas:
  5. Practicing Alankars in different Ragas.
  6. Playing simple melodic patterns.
  7. Developing a feel for mood and expression in Ragas.

Module 5: Talas and Rhythms
